Karen E. Todd is a registered dietitian with over 30 years of experience in exercise performance,
nutritional product development, and education. She holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both
Scientific Nutrition and Food Science Technology from Texas A&M University. She completed her
Dietetic Internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Dallas and her Didactic Program in Dietetics at
Texas A&M University. Her second bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology focused on
creating and designing new foods and products, allowing her to combine her interests in nutrition
and food science. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Institute of Food
Technologists, and the American Society of Nutrition.
With a particular interest in active nutrition, she is certified as a Certified Sports Nutritionist
(CISSN) by the International Society of Sports Nutrition, a Certified Strength and Conditioning
Specialist® (CSCS®) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and a Certified Exercise
Physiologist® (ACSM-EP) by the American College of Sports Medicine. She also holds a Master of
Business Administration (MBA) from the Wayne Huizenga School of Business at Nova Southeastern
University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In addition, she is a certified scuba diver and enjoys swimming,
hiking, and camping.
Currently, Karen serves as the Vice President of Global Brand Marketing for Kyowa Hakko, where
she manages marketing and branding for health product ingredients, including dietary
supplements, functional foods, and beverages. She sits on the executive board of The Council for
Responsible Nutrition (CRN), chairs the Foundation for CRN, and leads the Women in
Nutraceuticals (WIN) initiative. She also operates TheSupplementDietitian.com as an educational resource for consumers and media, driven by her passion for how dietary supplements and
nutraceutical ingredients can support everyone’s lifestyle at any stage.
